Description
This is the filling that every sand-filter pump relies on: water passes through a bed of fine grains that trap mechanical impurities. Mountfield supplies the quartz sand in a convenient 25 kg bag with a grain size of 0.6–1.2 mm.

Compatibility

Caring for the filling
- Backwash the sand regularly – this keeps the filter from clogging.
- Keep an eye on its condition: when it is heavily soiled, replace it.
- Bear in mind that sunscreens and skin oils can make the grains stick together. Hardened sand no longer filters well and must be replaced.
