Description
Jericoacoara is a white glass-ceramic mosaic with hexagonal tiles, among which pink and black ones are scattered. The surface looks rich, and water and light give it depth.
What Jericoacoara looks like
The pink and black hexagons are scattered like coloured dots on the white background. The contrast is bold and playful, and the facets add sparkle. The mosaic is for bathrooms, showers and creative spaces with a strong character, and it turns the wall into the centre of the room.
Why it is worth it
- Non-porous glass: water absorption is up to 0.04%, so the surface does not grow mould and does not hold stains or odours.
- Lasting colour: it does not fade in sunlight (ISO 4892) or from cleaning products (class A under ASTM C650).
- Frost-resistant: it passes the repeated freeze-thaw test under ASTM C1026, so it can also be used outdoors.
- Strong and smooth: it has a flexural strength of 55 N/mm² (EN ISO 10545-4), and its face is free of defects.
- Eco-friendly: made entirely from recycled glass, with no lead, cadmium or other heavy-metal pigments.
Silicone-dot backing
The chips are held together by small silicone dots on a flexible polyurethane backing. The dots do not cover the back of the tiles, so the adhesive reaches more than 95% of their surface and the mosaic bonds firmly. The backing is thin and adds no height, is not affected by adhesive or grout, and stays flat even after long storage.
The sheet is elastic and easily follows curves, steps and corners. There is no paper layer to soak and peel off, and while you work the face of the chips stays visible, so the joints can be aligned by eye.

Where to use it
Typical uses are a feature wall in a bathroom or spa area, cladding for a pool or hot tub, a kitchen splashback, and decorative niches and columns.
Installation step by step
- Preparing the substrate. The wall must be dry, stable, dust-free and level, with a permitted deviation of 2 mm under a 2 m straightedge. Where shower water will fall, waterproofing is applied beforehand.
- Adhesive. Choose a white flexible cement-based adhesive, C2TE S1. Glass lets a little light through, and a grey adhesive would make the colour darker.
- Application. Apply the adhesive with a notched trowel (3–4 mm teeth) only over as much area as two or three sheets cover.
- Setting. Lay the sheet and press it down over its whole surface with a rubber float. The gap between two sheets should equal the other joints – 2 mm.
- Cutting. Where there are corners or fittings, cut the silicone links with a utility knife and nip off single chips with special glass-mosaic nippers.
- Grouting. Grout the next day. For shower areas, an epoxy or waterproof C2 grout works best. A white grout emphasises cleanness, while a grey one softens the contrast.
- Cleaning. Wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge while it is fresh; epoxy grout is removed immediately with a special cleaner. You can start using the shower only once the grout has fully hardened.
Tools and materials: white adhesive C2TE S1, epoxy or waterproof grout, notched and rubber trowels, utility knife, glass-mosaic nippers, sponge, bucket and water.

Caring for the mosaic
- Wash with a soft sponge or cloth and a neutral cleaning product.
- Keep away from abrasive powders, metal brushes and acidic grout cleaners.
- Run a rubber squeegee over the wall after bathing, so no water marks are left on the glass.
Quantity and batch
The packaging is a carton for 1 m². Buy the whole area you need in a single order and add 5–10% for offcuts – that way the tiles come from the same production run and show no difference in tone.
Questions and answers
What do I fix it with?
With a white flexible cement-based adhesive of class C2TE S1 – it preserves the true colour of the glass.
Can it go over old tiles?
It is possible, provided the existing cladding is stable, free of grease and treated with a suitable primer.
Is it suitable for damp rooms?
Yes, it is intended for walls and wet areas, and the glass does not react with cleaning products. In a shower cubicle, use an epoxy or waterproof grout.
About the colour
Glass changes its appearance depending on the circumstances. Photos and visualisations give only an approximate idea, and the real shade depends on:
- the display you are viewing it on – computer, phone or tablet, with its brightness and settings;
- the light – direct sun, clouds, lamps, morning or evening;
- the viewing angle, since glass reflects differently;
- the water in the pool – its depth, clarity and chemical composition make the colour more intense and bluer;
- the tone of the grout and adhesive, as well as the size of the covered surface;
- the colours around it – pool edge, paving, walls, greenery;
- the production batch – between two batches the tone may differ slightly;
- natural variations between the chips in mixed and effect glass.
When the exact shade matters, write to us before you order. Give us the dimensions of the pool or room and we will calculate the area and the cartons you need.
