When to Replace It

The sight glass is permanently under pressure and sits in the path of the water. It may crack, turn cloudy or start to leak – and then you can no longer monitor the backwash water. The washer also ages. In case of a crack or leak, replace the set so that you can monitor the backwash and not lose water.

The dimensions and thread follow the filter, so the connection seals tightly and needs no additional materials.

Installation

  1. Stop the pump and release the pressure.
  2. Unscrew the worn sight glass from the valve body.
  3. Remove the old washer and clean the threads.
  4. Place the new washer and screw on the sight glass.
  5. Switch on the pump and check the connection for drips.

Tighten gently and by hand; the transparent material cracks under excessive force.

What You Get

  • dimensions and fasteners are fully matched;
  • quality control by the manufacturer itself;
  • replacement in minutes, without modification;
  • lower likelihood of another repair.

Choice and Maintenance

Check your unit against the listed models; a photo or the number of the old part also helps. Inspect the small details at the start of the season, because one worn part easily opens the way to more serious damage. A spare part on hand turns a repair into a matter of minutes.
