Advantages of the red colour

The vivid red tone is noticeable from a distance and clearly marks the safety zone around a swing, slide or play equipment. It also breaks up a grey concrete area and combines well with brick or wooden facades.

The material absorbs part of the impact and so reduces the risk of injury. For this reason it is preferred under children's equipment. Rubber copes well with the changing seasons and does not change its properties.

Where to use it

  • Children's corner and the area under swings
  • Terrace and yard
  • Beside a pool, where it is always wet
  • Outdoor fitness area
  • In front of a house or garage entrance

This version has straight edges with no connectors. If you would rather have edges that interlock, see the red PUZZLE version.

Recycled rubber can give a slight difference in shade between batches, so take the whole quantity at once – that way the surface will look uniform.

How to install

The base should ideally be smooth, clean and solid: concrete, asphalt or well-compacted gravel are all suitable. Give it a slight slope of 0.5 to 1 % so that water does not collect. Lay the tiles tightly side by side and trim them with a sharp knife or saw at a wall or kerb. The best working temperature is between 5 and 25 °C, and it is a good idea to let the tiles rest on site for about a day before installation. For a firmer hold, polyurethane adhesive is recommended – it is bought separately.

Cleaning and durability

Sweep the surface, and when it gets dirtier, wash it with water and a gentle cleaning agent. No painting or impregnation is needed. Rubber does not rot or delaminate from moisture, so it withstands rain, sun and cold.
