Description
The double hinge joins two elements of the roof frame and lets them move where needed. The plastic Mountfield version fits round and oval Azuro roofs.

Purpose
The two axes pass through the two holes, so the parts of the frame form the required angle and move without coming apart. An impact, strong wind or winter loading can crack the plastic – in that case the hinge is replaced.
Signs of wear
- the plastic is cracked or broken
- the holes have widened and the axes slip out
- the roof frame wobbles
Replacement
- Support the damaged section of the roof so that it does not collapse.
- Unscrew the fasteners of the old hinge.
- Remove it and check the condition of the holes.
- Fit the new one and pass the axes through the holes.
- Tighten the fasteners and make sure the roof moves without resistance.
Why an original part
It is made for this exact model and fits without modification, while non-original equivalents sometimes do not match in size.
Care
Before winter, clean and check all connections, and store dismantled parts in a dry, dark place. Plastic threads should not be tightened with power tools. Do not connect the new hinge to neighbouring components that are already deformed.
